UPDATE

Its been ages since I updated, not through lack of trying, more so because so much has happened in just under two weeks that I haven't fully had time to stop and write.

My last full week in Amsterdam was very entertaining. I got a text from Mark on the Wednesday saying that he thinks the guys in th
e squat are gonna kick me out. I make a few calls and texts and it turns out to be the truth. I asked why and it was because I haven't been there for three months, because they didn't like Mark and because I wasn't right for the house??!?! Whatever that means. I never caused any trouble, I wasn't the spastic that set off the fire alarm, I wasn't the spastic that went shouting in the street to her boyfriend, I'm not the spastic who's parents are dead and who is so rich that he could buy his own house but whatever. That sounds bitter and in retrospect I'm not, I'm bitter at how I was treated, but I'll get to that shortly. As I left for Trashfest I was told to look for a new place to live but thats kinda difficult from another country so off I toddled on the train with a bag full of high expectations and impending japery.

My plan was to meet Matt and Wes at the venue as I was sharing a tent with them, and they were bringing me sleeping stuff due to my having nothing in Amsterdam. I headed off on the train for my last weekend in the Netherlands and Europe with the expectations of a banger. Not to bog me or the reader down with details but it was a crazy drunken weekend whose highlights included:-
  • Wes getting pissed and jumping in a moat
  • Wes jumping in a bin
  • Sausagedog
  • Straight A's covering one life crew to the disappointment of Mez and PC punks
  • Ka Ka karaoke including Matt PBS doing Fat Lip and Matt doing welcome to paradise
  • Open dutch mosh competition
  • Discarga
  • Trash Talk
  • German Mosh Police
  • the various awesome covers bands
  • North vs South footie game at the campsite
  • Too many awesome people to name
  • Finally finding THE TSHIRT
  • Sunday English takeover.
and well too much other good stuff that has slipped my mind right now.

On the Sunday Negative Approach were playing at the Melkweg, so I jumped in the car with Kieran, MattPBS, Tommo and Nick and headed home to Amsterdam. We dropped my stuff off at my place then headed off for the show. Awesome Ellen from Utrecht joined as there, as did a few other casualties from the weekend. Gig was awesome but I was far too tired to enjoy Negative Aproach as much as I did first time round. Post gig I said goodbye to everyone, considered going into Glassworks to read the and print the emails but decided I was not that bothered in the end so I took the tram home and had a well deserved sleep.

My last Dutch day was pretty uninspiring. I packed, mooched, watched Lost and in the evening Nikki came over to hang out and say bye to me. As I was expecting, no-one from Glassworks got in contact with me which I wasn't too bothered about. We drunk a lot and ended up back at our favourite watering hole 'Ghent' right by the canal and proceeded to give eachother dead arms all night. I won of course hah.

Tuesday I got my flight home which was nice and empty and on returning to London called mark to go meet him and get the keys to my house. I grabbed my keys and returned to the squat. I tried to open the door but it appeared as though the yale lock had been changed. I went round to the ice cream place where Tan works and she told me to call someone in the house. I eventually got let in by Corinne, Simon and Diego who all proceeded to tell me that I could leave my stuff in the house for the night but couldn't stay there. Put me in a slightly awkward position as my parents were on holiday and I had no-where to go. They didn't seem too bothered by this. My anger levels began to rise and I came very close to lashing out and teling them all some home truths. I was proud of myself for not though and remained an adult in the whole situation. i left and headed for Camden to go see Crystal and she said it was cool to for me to crash for a couple of nights. We hung out, then after seeing Chris in Euston I went to the Underworld to meet Conan and discuss moving out, oh and to see Negative Approach and Madball.

The next few days moved very fast, I moved my stuff out of the squat on the Thursday night back to my parents house, saw a flat and the Sceptres Friday night, took the flat Saturday morning and met everyone to go to the Manor House party. It was so good to see everyone and catch up on a couple of months worth of news. They all said I was better off out of the squat and I agreed. I met Bry and Andy and we drunk all day, then met too many people at Ruth's house to go to a shit party in Bethnal Green and a good party in Manor House. The night ended with us losing Gary Morgan at 5am somewhere in Stoke Newington as he chased a dog down the street.

Sunday was a blur of drink, uninspiring Euro cup final, bad food and hungover vibes. I woke up at 8.30am in Stepney Green with a text from my Mum asking to call and on picking up I learnt I was an Uncle to a little baby girl. Mia Georgina O'Brien. By Monday afternoon I was in Whipp's Cross meeting my new niece who was 12 hours old and who I fell in love with instantly. My brothers face was incredible, he couldn't stop smiling and all the negativity of my house was washed away by that little girl. I know there are a million more important things to worry about in life and her little face was a good reminder of this. Karma will bite those twats hard so I have no need to worry.

Quite a hectic time really. In the space of a week I was evicted, jobless, homeless and then got a house, became and Uncle and began the arduous task of job hunting. I move in next Friday and in between that I have my Mum's 60th, 2 weekends successively in Brighton and job interviews.

Life is always hectic, but never dull for me and I Iove it
