Ra Ra Riot

So i caught one of the four consecutive London gigs of these guys at Proud Stables in Camden last night and this band may have just managed to re-jig my constant (as of late) jaded opinion that music was becoming tired and rehashed. The irony is that they aren't doing anything that different from shuffling indie and violin led new folk, but their secret is taking those styles, meshing them and achieving something new and vital sounding. They have an incredible stage presence which comes across as them having the time of their lives and alongside the minimal stage banter, this led the way for the music to do the talking and interestingly one of the free London papers stated they were a less exciting MGMT. I lol'd, You decide

check the track "Manner to act" first!!

P.s The proud stables is a fantastic venue. Perfect for hardcore shows but I imagine it costs around £1000 to hire. Easily. Also £5 bottles of kopperberg means the pocket shy heads would be loathe to help the bar takings and probably raise the price even more. (I am included in the Pocket shy)
