Lurking is a truly dangerous manoeuvre as more often than not you find out information that you were almost certainly better off not knowing. Social network lurking is always the most dangerous as a lot of movements in your life are documented for everyone to see. You of course get the flipside to Lurking which is pre-emptive lurking where someone believes they are being lurked so they strike through lies, invalid truths, false information and downright bullshit. Its a funny old world where we live through our LCD screen and our relationships become a few key taps and expressed niceties down some wires. Our healthy relationships with people become forgotten messages sent five minutes prior and our unhealthy relationships flourish allowing a greater scope for acquaintance and less emphasis on solidified true friendships
If someone replies too quick does that mean they are desperate to talk to someone?
If someone doesn't reply fast enough does that mean they are pissed off at you?
If someone doesn't reply at all does that mean they are struck off the friends list?
I may be old fashioned but a part of me would love to return to the days of telephone calls on a housephone and letter writing. I miss sitting down with a pen and paper and just letting my thoughts go for someone close to me to read. I tried it last summer but it failed miserably when my first letter wasn't recieved and the communication lines kid of crumbled from there.
Anyway, the reason for all this is
I wish I hadn't lurked tonight.
On a happier note I spent my afternoon laughing my arse off making myself laugh at the genius banner you find above. I know I'm good, its good to prove it to myself. Also Queens day next week and Vienna. Should be pretty special.
