Ups and downs, its ups and downs, ups and downs

What a funny day! My package arrived from China today. Its contents will be revealed imminently, but it was sitting on the desk as i walked in to begin my first day of my first month living in Holland. I was eager to open it but Tim (the boss) told me that he had spoken to Hector (the main man) and that i would only be able to do the 2-3 months that was initially planned as other runners need to have a chance to come out here. It was fairly expected as this was what was initially told to me before i came out here and I was living a small pipe dream in thinking that I would be able to stay for longer. I'm not gutted at all about it. i think three months is a great time to spend out here. It means I get what i initially planned which was Spring here and then Summer with all my best friends back in England. Perfect really!!

So time has really flown since I've been here. Its been a month, but it feels like a week. It's amazing how time can get away from you when you are having fun. Its been a great first month and I hope the good times continue for the remainder of my time. I am penciling in visits to Vienna, to the beach and potentially to Berlin but travel is very expensive so may only do one a month. The beach is dirt cheap by the way, i was thinking more of international travel.

So my Chinese package. I know I have mentioned my friend Joe who I met whilst i was stuck in a typhoon at Shanghai airport as we waited to board our flights to Bangkok. Well he was in London recently and we went out together. He noticed I was wearing Air Force One's and as he works for Nike said that he would send me a pair. He said it didn't matter as it cost him nothing. I gave him my Dutch address and kinda forgot all about it. The package awaited me this morning and to say I was surprised was quite the understatement. I got;

1 x Nike SB reversible breaker (varsity red/black)
1 x Nike baseball jacket (grey)
1 x Nike 6.0 tshirt (grey)
1 x Nike SB shattered rose tshirt (black)
1 x Nike SB printed beanie (varisty red)

All for free. What a fucking amazing guy. Its the end of the day now and I still can't believe he sent all this. Its easily about £500 worth of stuff. Someone out there is really looking after me.
